On this day in 1982 New Order released a 7 inch and a 12 inch version of the single “Temptation” on Factory Records. In 1987, the song was completely re-recorded and released on the singles compilation Substance (this version is known as “Temptation ’87”). In 2009 the original 7 inch version of the single was re-released in the US with its original b-side, “Hurt” as part of National Record Store Day.
