What’s in a name?


On this day in 1993 the band Bunnygrunt got their name from a horse at the Fairmount Park Racetrack in Collinsville, Illinois. Karen Ried had bet on the horse, Bunnygrunt, to place and when the horse came in second, both she and Matt Harnish saw this as a sign. Shorty after they convinced band mate Renee Dullum to change their band name from The Mars Bars to Bunnygrunt… and the rest is history

Flashback Friday


On this day in 1997 indiepop superstars Bunnygrunt played a show at Chris Munford’s house in Seattle. The band convinced both Chris Mac and Chris Munford to join them on the song I Am Curious Partridge. Unfortunately, the show ended abruptly when a fuse blew during the song Constantly Fighting. (Both of these MP3s are live recordings from that show).
