Here is a live recording of the song “Sweet” performed at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle in 2003. It sounds like there was a small but rowdy crowd in attendance for this Wednesday night show. Enjoy.

What’s in a name?

Bunnygrunt_photo

On this day in 1993 the band Bunnygrunt got their name from a horse at the Fairmount Park Racetrack in Collinsville, Illinois. Karen Ried had bet on the horse, Bunnygrunt, to place and when the horse came in second, both she and Matt Harnish saw this as a sign. Shorty after they convinced band mate Renee Dullum to change their band name from The Mars Bars to Bunnygrunt… and the rest is history

On Tape!

Tullycraft_Poohsticks_photo

In 2008 HHBTM Records released a Tullycraft / Smittens split 7” as part of their Singles Club series. For their side, The Smittens covered the classic “My Boyfriend’s Back” – originally recorded by The Angels in 1963. For the Tullycraft side, we covered the 1989 Pooh Sticks song “On Tape” – although, we changed almost all of the lyrics. In addition, we spoofed the Pooh Sticks Formula One Generation album cover photo on the insert of the single (see photos above).

Here is the Tullycraft version of “On Tape”

I’ve been really digging the new Eureka California record released on HHBTM Records!

Check out the terrific song “Cobwebs on the Wind” from their new album Versus.

Unreleased Tullycraft Song

Touch_Me_cover_sized

During the summer of 2012 Tullycraft recorded 13 songs. Eleven of those songs ended up on the ‘Lost in Light Rotation’ album. The twelfth song, “Bad Connection,” appeared on the B-side of the “Lost in Light Rotation” 7 inch single. The thirteenth song, “Touch Me, I’m Sick (Over You)” was never released. We thought about including this track on the ‘Lost in Light Rotation’ album, but we decided that it didn’t sound like it fit with the other songs on the record. So… for the past few years it’s been sitting on a hard drive. As a Christmas treat, here is the previously unreleased song, “Touch Me, I’m Sick (Over You).” Happy Holidays!
